Community
Community members have an important role to play in reducing unwanted pregnancy and unsafe abortion and in strengthening PAC services. A strong and effective partnership between community members and health care providers can strengthen efforts to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity due to complications from unsafe and incomplete abortion. Barriers to use of PAC services can also be addressed by working with the community members to help them understand the health benefits of timely access to PAC services.
